You may be a died hard LSU Tiger fan, but here are 20 facts you may not have known about the long time rivalry with the Auburn Tigers/War Eagles.(seriously, pick a name, fools)

1. The first time LSU and Auburn played was all the way back in 1901. Not much of a contest in the Tiger bowl, as Auburn won easily 28-0. That was the only loss for LSU that year. Although, they did lose to Tulane, but later protested the victory because Tulane snuck a professional player onto the team, therefor forfeited the game at a later date. One more fact from that season, weirdly enough in all 6 games the Tigers played that year, the winning team was the only team to score points in each game. Talk about a bunch of lopsided victories.

2. There have been 52 meetings in all for the Rivalry and LSU leads the overall record, 29-22-1.

3. The largest margain of victory came from the 2011 matchup of the Tiger Bowl. LSU won 45-10. Rueben Randle had a pair of 40+ yard Touchdowns from both QB Jordan Jefferson and QB Jarret Lee.

4. LSU owns the longest win streak of 6, from 1926-1937. Must have missed a few years, maybe the plague was running rapid those years. Who knows.

5.  The lowest scoring Tiger Bowl was in 1935, where LSU beat Auburn 6-0 in Baton Rouge. Talk about a tough one to watch in Death Valley.

6.  Not many defensive struggle games in this series. The winning squad pitched a shutout 9 of the first 13 games to start the series. Since then, neither team has been shut out.

7.  In 2006, both Tiger teams were ranked the lowest they have ever been in the series. #3 Auburn beat #6 LSU by a whooping score of 7-3. LSU had a chance to win the game late, but defenseman Eric Brock of Auburn deflected a pass at the goaline and made a game saving tackle to secure the game for the war eagles. Future number 1 overall pick (LOL) Jarmarcus Russell threw for 267 yards.

Plenty of more stats out there to get you pumped for this game. Such a storied rivalry. And to no surprise, the game this weekend will most likely be an instant classic. Go Tigers! Wait…?
